Better than expected
The Zoo was far larger than expected, but it was hard to do justice to the place in the gale force winds that day. Even the polar bears looked cold.
Worth Seeing, Not worth going to see
Having paid for the privilege of climbing 300 odd steps up to the top of the Stephansdom, we found ourselves in a gift shop! Unfortunately there was no way outside and the small windows were hot property as everyone tried to take a glance outside.
Favourite Bar
Kaffee Alt Wien. Busy with natives and tourists. In fact people were still looking for tables at 11.30 on a Monday night. The waiters did try and charge us for 3 extra beers though!
Most Bizarre
Friedensreich Hundertwasser's, Kunsthaus in Vienna
Worth Mentioning
Although the centre is quite compact, a travel card is needed as the city sprawls a long way out.
Price of Beer
Supermarkets – 500ml was around 75p
Bars – Ranged from £1.50p to £2.80 (£4.20 for Guinness!)
NB
The Goulash museum Restaurant is an interesting eatery

Having relieved us each of 18.50 Euros, we climbed onboard the 10.30am TwinCity Liner Boat, that would take us up stream to Vienna. The sky made a wonderful blue backdrop as we bid farewell to Slovakia and said Guten morgen to Austria. In fact, we were inside Austrian territory only 7 mins after setting sail, illustrating the fact that Bratislava is so close to the border. The 90min journey passed quickly and before we knew it, we were heading up the Danube Canal into the heart of Vienna itself. We disembarked, leaving behind the day trippers (and returning drunks) and set about walking up the canal to found our hotel in the midday sunshine.
