Haines made it back to back 5 wicket hauls as exploited the best of a pitch that offered a bit of bounce. Haines finished with 5-36 off 13, while Tony Allen hooped the ball around at the other end to take a season best 4-15 off 9. With Nuneaton back in the hutch for 87 with barely 30 overs played, the teams went straight back out. Elford made a tentative despite a breezy 10 by Malc MacDonald, who was also struck in the head by a beamer for his troubles. Elford 1sts Vs Moseley 3rds
Warwickshire Div 5
Lost by 91 runs

A spirited display by Elford wasn’t quite enough, as they eventually fell considerably short at home to promotion chasing Moseley. Having elected to field first, Elford found themselves chasing the ball from the start as Mosleley took advantage of a slow hard wicket. To make matters worse, Elford were reduced to 10 men in the 3rd over as N Robinson injured himself diving in the outfield. T Allen made the initial breakthrough but at 221-1 off 38 overs, Elford were up against it. Danny Haines came back on and sparked a recovery of sorts as the luck started to turn. Haines took 5 wickets in 4 overs to finish with 5-60 off 15, while Paul Baldwin (3-52) hunted down the remaining wickets at the other end. Helped by a great run out by Jack Leech, Elford dragged themselves back into the game as Moseley were dismissed for 258. Unfortunately, Elfords top order soon disappeared including a diamond duck in the first over. Martin Sperrink (21) and Sam Leech 68 batted well, leading  a semi recovery and looked quietly set before the pair fell in relatively short succession.  Tony Allen 19 and Danny Haines 18* offered a little resistance in the tail, but Elford fell some way short of the total on 167ao.

Olton & WW 3rds Vs Elford 1sts
Warwickshire Div 5
Lost by 68 runs

The initial signs had been good as Elfords opening bowlers had got Elford off to a great start, restricting the home side to 74-4 of 25. Paul Baldwin 3-33 off 15 and Danny Haines with a miserly 1-12 off 11 had helped choke Oltons innings. Despite some lofty middle order hitting, Elford maintained a control of the game with Neil Robinson cleaning up the tail with 4-42 off 9. Having been set 168 to win off 54, Elford got off to a disastrous start losing 2 wickets for 1 run inside the first 3 overs.
