Poznan - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 23rd, 24th, 25th October
General Images of Poznan // Location: Poznan

Background Information:

Poland seemed very foreign to Germany, despite being informed that Poznan is more of the German influenced Polish Cities. The others remarked I turned very pale and quiet as my new found surroundings settled in. That said, the Hotel was very good, with free internet and coffee in the rooms and all at £15 a night! The only trouble was that it was someway out of the town in a suburb called Winogrady , so Taxi's were needed to go back and forth to the Town Centre. But at £3 a fare (the equivalent desistance in the UK would have cost us £15), Taxis were used on every occasion, even if only 2 out of the 13 drivers we had spoke English!

The Town Centre in Poznan is everything you imagine an Eastern Europe Square to be. Cobbled street and “drinking establishments a plenty”, the Square is very pleasant and we spent plenty of time in and around the area. With only a day and half in Poznan we walked many miles around the City, covering almost every stone, taking many photos once again.

Our last night was a little more lively as we found the student area, but it was still very quiet, despite Haz's best efforts to drink more than the rest of us. We found a “polish disco hall” at the back of the bar, which was playing old Prodigy tunes which was quite amusing!
