Hallo und willkommen! One of the most famous landmarks of Munich is the Olympic village and a worthy destination for any want to be “checkbox tourist”! The Park is a curious place with architecture that still looks as fresh as it did back in 1972. Yet at the same time it felt like we were visiting a world fair from yesteryear. That said, Bayern only finished playing at the Olympic stadium 2 years ago, with evidence of their occupation their clearly evident. Despite the cold and the weather still trying to snow, it was quite a surreal place. With precious few people wandering around the site, we virtually had the place to ourselves. To get the best view of the area, its best to climb the man made hills that overlook the site. However due the mind numbing windchill at the top we didn’t hang around their for long!
