Hallo und willkommen!
Like most tourists who visit Munchen, we thought a trip to the world famous Hofbrauhaus
was in order. The Hofbrauhaus (roughly translated as the state court-brewery in Munich)
is several centuries old and even witnessed some of the initial meetings of the Nazi Party.
Having been warned in advance that we wouldn't find many natives in the establishment,
it was actually tables not Germans which proved more elusive. As predicted it had its fair
share of Americans and Japanese, but with the local brew proving a hit, all and sundry
swayed merrily to the in house brass band. We skulked around and found a quiet corner
to observe proceedings. Although a glass costs ˆ6.60 it twice the measure of a pint! Litre
Glasses are the norm, a worry to lightweights like myself! Still a good time was had by all
, especially the friendly Jap sitting behind me who sank 3 glasses while in the
time we were sitting there! |
