The East Side Gallery is the longest stretch of the Berlin Wall left standing, measuring just over 1.3 km. Located on Muhlenstrasse in Friedrichshain, the wall has been turned into an open air gallery consisting of approximately 106 paintings by artists from all over the world. Unfortunately much of the Gallery has now been graffitied over, as the cycle seems to continue once again, with visitors scrolling their own names on the wall. Fell into the category, “Worth seeing, not worth going to see”. That said the Ostbahhof does give a sense of truly being in East Berlin.
