Having persuaded Clare the heat or the clifftop walk to Atrani wouldn’t be that that bad we set off around the headland. It turned out, Atrani wasn’t far and the views it provided of both our destination and Amalfi were well worth the climb. Atrani is slightly smaller than Amalfi, but equally as charming. It has just as many narrow streets, steep steps and sleeping cats.
Postscript: Only two weeks later, Atrani suffered extensive damage and even loss of life when a massive mudslide reaped havoc on the town.
