A lazy Sunday was the order of the day. We all took the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the local surroundings and stock up on supplies. It also gave me the chance to practise a little Italian and to my surprise/relief be understood!
Amalfi itself is a charming and quaint small Italian town which throngs with tourists of every nationality. A new wave of tour groups and sightseers pour into the town every time another overcrowded bus pulls up. Deciding to avoid any more travel for a day or so, we found the only available bit of sand left on the beach and spent the afternoon in the sun.
